Bright, crunchy berry fruit is what these 3 Austrian Natural Red Wines are all about. We’ve picked 3 wines that showcase ripe red or dark fruit with light or no tannins, to be drank at room temperature or lightly chilled.
This pack contains:
1 x Joiseph Piroska: “Harvested a tad early and bottled in May, this joyous, delicate red flaunts a finely wound structure, herbal with a bright strawberry treble and deep cassis bass note, all supported by a rocky minerality. It’s a blend: about 47% Zweigelt, 38% Pinot Noir with the remainder being just a “gemistcher satz” that is mostly Blaufränkisch and some white grapes. A bit more texture than the 2017, slightly deeper fruit & spice profile, but every bit as drinkable if not more.”
1 x Meinklang Roter Mulatschak: “Natural red made from a blend of biodynamic Zweigelt and St. Laurent grapes. The nose is earthy and herbal, the fruit is bright, juicy berries, and there’s fresh acidity.”
1 x Koppitsch Ret: “Imagine devouring Grandma’s pecan dark cherry pie under a willow tree. This is St Laurent and Zweigelt grapes fermented with natural yeasts, in both stainless steel and Acacia casks, then aged 16 months on it’s lees. It’s been described by more than one of our customers as “the best wines they’ve ever tasted”.”
