Edinburgh’s Campervan Brewery has launched an English Barley Wine which has been aged for three months in two different bourbon barrels.
The ageing gives the 9.7% ABV brew notes of dried fruit, sweet toffee, and burnt caramel, says the brewer. It yielded just 938 bottles,
The beer is the first release of Campervan Brewery’s new barrel-aged series which, in the future, will be matured at Lost In Leith Bar & Fermentaria, either in former wine or spirit barrels, or in one of its three 10hl oak foeders.
