Exciting, racy Riesling from a very talented young winemaker. Johannes Hasselbach has been driving this Rheinhessen estate in some very cool directions for a few years now. They’ve converted to Organic viticulture, moved everything to spontaneous fermentations, all the estate wines are fermented with native yeasts, and he is also doing some groundbreaking work starting his fermentations in the vineyards before bringing the wines into the cellar.
This wine is dry, very dry at 3.5g residuel sugar. It sees 12hrs of skin contact which lends a touch of tannin and phenolic tension making it a bracing, refreshing experience.
