We hope you enjoy working your way through the selection as much as we enjoyed putting it together.

Here’s the run down of what to expect.

PULENTA LA FLOR MALBEC – The 2020 La Flor Malbec is so well-balanced. The acidity is even fresher acidity than in recent years, which works very well with the intensely concentrated dark fruit notes and velvet-like tannins. Black cherry and plum dominate on the nose and palate, accompanied by a subtle and well-integrated cedar note which persists long into the finish. Perfect with grilled lamb or mushroom risotto.

CAMPARO LANGHE ROSSO – 50% Dolcetto, 25% Nebbiolo and 25% Barbera hand harvested cultivated from the Bettola vineyard which is centred around the ancient town of Alba.

TERRA DI MONTALUSA PRIMITIVO – This smooth, juicy Primitivo is full of Southern Puglian character. With medium body, ripe, sun blushed fruit, a touch of spice and soft velvety texture, a total crowd pleaser!

IL FOLLE ORGANIC NERO D’AVOLA – ‘Il Folle’ means ‘the mad one’ (think ‘the fool’ and it should become obvious!)– wild, gregarious and full of sun drenched Sicilian personality. This wine embodies the best of the Sicilian landscape and warm southern character, and is brimming with flavour and freshness. A full-bodied wine that reveals gorgeous aromatics of blackberry liqueur and vanilla. Makes us dream of warm Sicilian sun.

MONTSABLE PINOT NOIR – The wines of Montsablé are inspired by the desire to craft elegant Burgundian Pinot Noir in Southern France. Working with growers in cooler sites of lower vigour, they seek out fruit that delivers clean flavours and great balance. Minimal oak is used resulting in Pinot with lifted cherry and wild strawberry fruit.

TE QUIERO ORGANIC FIELD BLEND RED – Deep intense purple colour. Rich ripe, spiced and brambly fruit, pure and mouthfilling with round tannins, and a lively finish.

Much of Spain’s vineyards are devoted to the commercial grape varieties that we all know and love such as Tempranillo and Syrah, but there are also small plots of older, native varieties such as Graciano, Monastrell, Tinto Velasco that farmers have preserved out of a sense of pride or interest in their history to bring together lots of things that we “love” about Spain, from the dry grown bush vines seemingly being watered by magic, amongst the abundant saffron croci that are common across La Mancha. Today we recognise more and more the value of this diversity and the wealth of flavours of some of these older varieties when they come together in a blend. The small amount of these grapes that remain means it is not possible to vinify them separately so the grapes tend to be harvested together as a Field Blend.
