Blue Fish wines are made in Niederkirchen, Pfalz, by „Die Weinmacher (The Winemakers). Die Weinmacher is one of the oldest cooperatives in the region and has been making wines since 1902! Close to 200 families are coop members and take care of the vineyards that supply the grapes for Blue Fish. The growing area is called Mittelhaardt and is the largest single Riesling growing appelation world wide! Die Weinmacher is a winery within Deutsches Weintor, the leading German wine cooperative.
“Die Weinmacher“ is one of the leading organic growers in Pfalz. Out of the 240 hectares belonging to the coop members, 20% of all (48 has) are organically certified. With 30 hectares of Organic Riesling alone, Blue Fish sources from one of the largest organic grapes vineyard areas in Germany.
