Description
A stunning cask of Islay workhorse, Caol Ila, distilled in 2015 and aged for 9 years. One third of this whisky’s maturation was spent in Margaux barriques, resulting in a ripe, juicy character to compliment the heavy smoke the distillery is known for.
Nose:
Pine, tree sap, and campfire with a resounding raspberry and cherry tone.
Palate:
Classic BBQ with rich dark chocolate, amaretto, and a bit of gooseberry
Finish:
Big red fruits, a hit of liquorice, and a long sooty smoke.
