Description
This is a delightful Chenin Blanc from the Loire, with a slight complexity from six months of lees age, which gives a smooth texture the wine. There is also lovely balance that threads the needle between a fruit driven style and a more savoury style. With flavours and aromas of green apple, ripe pear and honeysuckle, followed by a waxy texture and poached spiced apple, and a lovely crisp acidity.
Complices de Loire is a joint venture between François-Xavier Barc and Gérald Vallée, two vine growers and winemakers from the Loire Valley. Originating from the Loire area, François-Xavier Barc studied in the Chinon and Saint-Emilion wine regions. Surrounded by winegrowers who share the same philosophy and passion for good wine, he has created around 15 cuvées divided into three different wine ranges. Gérald Vallée comes from a long line of winemakers and also manages his family-owned estate Domaine de la Cotelleraie situated in the heart of Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil.
