Here it is!

Our Wine Pack offering for the busy month of December.

We aim once again to make life that little bit easier for you by spending countless hours pouring over our importer lists & tasting through 2021’s wine offerings to bring you this delicious selection of our 6 most exciting wines to try this December.

This pack is a way for us to group together 6 very special bottles that will take you through the month in style. They have more than proven their worth & quality over this year & will perfectly pair with richer dinners on these Winter nights plus present some wonderful talking points at dinner parties.

We present you with the highlight reel of this year’s top picks!

Firstly you will notice that we’ve embraced the month of celebration with not one but 2 bottles of premium fizz.

These are here to show off the mix of interesting top end sparkling wine on offer at the moment. Rieffel Cremant d’Alsace has this year been our go-to Champagne alternative for beating 99% of entry level Champagne. Expect lively lemon pith, brioche, crepes & salinity from this Alsacian winemaker.

It’s paired up with Can Sumoi Sumoll Ancestral Method for a more rounded stone fruit, yet still elegant, sparkling treat. This wine is made as a Pet Nat style, meaning Petillant Naturel. We have been championing alternative styles of wine made in a natural, minimal intervention way all year so it only felt right to include some in this month’s pack. All 6 of these bottles are organic.

Then onto two whites in the form of the refreshing Gruner Veltliner from Kamptal Kollektiv, a great wine & a great project by one of our importers to give back a percentage of profits to the growers & the local region. Expect clean, crisp green fruit flavours with a typical white pepper spice at the finish to keep things interesting. An Austrian classic.

We also have our rounder, pear & white flower led white from the Treixadura variety in Spain. A must try – The Flower and the Bee White is lower acid for a softer yet ripe green fruit led Gavi-esque white wine. Real presence, but not at all heavy. Just lovely fruit intensity & amazing freshness. This is to act as your Chardonnay or Viognier alternative this Christmas! A great gift for someone you know loves Gavi but would like to branch out.

Lastly the reds, it wouldn’t be Winter without a brooding ripe, hug in a glass red & this year we’ve picked out the biodynamically farmed, super sustainable Matetic Corralillo Syrah from Chile. Deep & dark with chocolate, mocha flavours over red & black fruit.

The final bottle in the case is the biodynamically farmed ‘Les Perruches’ Cabernet Franc by Beatrice & Pascal Lambert. We’ve been loving their whites for a few months now & finally got round to tasting their red recently. It had to be in the pack as it’s a shining example of a very well made Loire Valley red. Cabernet Franc takes the lead – classic of the region. This has great freshness with lots of ripe red fruits & even some spiced red apple with the typical green pepper & aromatic herbal notes keeping it bright. This could be your Turkey or gammon wine for sure!
