Description
This comes from a single vineyard in Mavilly planted in the 1950’s, that we named Vigne de Rose after our daughter. We took over the parcel the same month she was born. The soil is quite specific here, a mix of sandstone, clay and limestone. It’s south-facing and surrounded by more forest, and lots of cows.Rosie is a whole bunch infusion in tank for 1 week with no extraction, basket pressed by hand and bottled in mid-April with no additions. It’s very light, almost like a Poulsard.”2022 was an easy, dry year. We were saved by cooler weather and rain just before harvest, which resulted in elegant, aromatic wines that do not show the heat and stress of warm dry years like 2018 and 2020.”
