Description
Domaine de Bellevue is located in Muscadet, the most western appellation in the Loire Valley. Started in 2005 by Jérôme Bretaudeau, the 9 hectares of vineyards are home to 11 grape varieties, some quite unusual for the region: Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Gris, and Merlot. The soils are made up of silica pebbles, white and pink quartz, and some volcanic rocks that give an intense minerality and complexity to the wines. The flagship wines are aged in concrete eggs or clay amphorae.
