Description
Single cask 11 year old Glendullan from Dufftown, bottled at natural cask strength after 11 years maturation, including 10 months finishing in Malaga sweet fortified wine casks.
Normallly a lighter, grassy spirit, the addition of the malaga cask here adds a touch of baked apricot over toasted almond and dried herbs. On the finish a little stewed apricot and pastry mingle. A touch of heat rounds out nicely with that creamed stone fruit finale.
Cask Finishes:
Like many blenders of his time, Mr. Eadie was fond of casks which had previously held brandies or fortified wines. These included Sherry, Madeira and Marsala, amongst others. So Rupert, Hugh and Leon, the three people who make up the modern James Eadie Whisky Company, have set about creating their Cask Finish range. This range explores the flavours which additional maturation in fortified wine barrels can offer.
Some barrels are truly one-of-a-kind. Unique in style and flavour, these are bottled as Single Casks.
All Cask Finish and Single Cask releases are bottled at cask strength, natural colour and unchillfiltered. They are each supplied in individual gift tubes.
