Description
12YO Glentauchers fully matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel. This has a rich, creamy pastry note on the nose, reminiscent of a cherry bakewell tart topped with toasted almonds. With a touch of water, Glentauchers’ classic appley tones are revealed and baking spice comes to the fore. The palate is midweight and full of vanilla. The almond cherry notes from the nose return but this time are augmented with a touch of buttery brioche. Flavours of toffee apple dusted with cinnamon linger. This is A delicious example of the vibrant orchard fruit character of Glentauchers given lovely richness and depth from first-fill bourbon.
