Description
Pink Blaufränkisch from Weingut Henrich in Burgenland, Austria. This is tasty, with far more bang for your buck than you’ll find in Provence at this price point. Biodynamic fruit, wild yeast ferment & a few months spent on the lees has provided us with bright red fruited intensity & a lovely texture.
The harvest is carried out manually in mid-September. When the whole bunches reach the winery, they are partially pressed & macerated for a few hours before undergoing fermentation with their native yeasts. The resulting wine undergoes malolactic fermentation giving a rounder mouthfeel while maintaining crisp acidity. It is aged for around 5 months under its fine lees in wooden fermentation vats & amphoras.
The wine is bottled unfiltered, with a minimal amount of sulphur.
