Description
Harvested a tad early and bottled in May, this joyous, delicate red flaunts a finely wound structure, herbal with a bright strawberry treble and deep cassis bass note, all supported by a rocky minerality. It’s a blend: about 47% Zweigelt, 38% Pinot Noir with the remainder being just a “gemistcher satz” that is mostly Blaufränkisch and some white grapes. A bit more texture than the 2017, slightly deeper fruit & spice profile, but every bit as drinkable if not more.
