This month’s wine pack has got us all excited for new rules, new wines & the return of some sunshine.
We hope these bottles can be enjoyed in the company of friends & family!
This pack is predominantly made up of brand new wines we have tasted, loved & therefore listed, across a range of styles, countries & price points. 2 Whites, 2 Reds, 1 Rose & a Sparkling. Enjoy!
This month’s pack includes:
Meinklang Prosa Frizzante (Austria) – Absolutely charming, in every sense of the word. This is made from a blend of 50% Zweigelt, 20% Pinot Noir, 10% St Laurent and 10% Blaufrankisch. A delightful, lightly sparkling rosé that’s a perfect aperitif.
Triuno Organic Malbec (Argentina) – This is a Summer style malbec that does not have the usual smokey, oaky flavours but instead is full of juicy blueberry & blackberries. The grapes are picked at night when the temperature is cooler to retain a fresh acidity in the wine. A medium weight wine that could be enjoyed by itself or along with a BBQ of grilled meats & chargrilled veg.
Flysch Txakolina (Spain) – This spritzy white wine is super fresh, full of zippy lemon peel & you’ll find fresh citrus leaping out of the glass followed by green apple & the scent of fresh rain on pebbles at the beach! Lower alcohol at 11% makes this ideal for lunchtime or multiple bottles with friends! Ideal wine to pair with seafood or any kind of fish, this will act like a squeeze of citrus on top.
Domaine La Grande Bauquiere Provence Rose (France) – A beautiful pale pink coloured Provence Rose offering white flowers & red berries on the nose with a hint of grapefruit. The flavours are complex, dominated by ripe tropical fruits & balanced by a fresh mineral structure.
El Convertido Organic Verdejo (Spain) An elegant glass of white from Spain’s La Mancha region, this Verdejo is a notch above the rest. Made from 30 year old Verdejo vines, there is a concentration which is often missing from so many of its kind. A dry yet fresh palate with lovely floral aromas & peachy flavours, bright citrus on the finish.
Familia Pacheco Organic Monastrell (Spain) – A big, dark & brooding red wine. This has ripe red berry aromas on the nose, with a light touch of balsamic. A balanced, full-bodied, fresh wine enhanced by seasoned tannins & ripe fruit on the finish. This is the fuller bodied bottle in the bunch, made by a family winery where mother, sisters & children all work. This would be great for when it really gets chilly once the sun goes down.
