Description
A ghost (closed) distillery, this 21 year old Port Dundas was bottled just four days from hitting its 22nd birthday! At the height of its production, Port Dundas was the largest distillery in Scotland, known as the ‘blending powerhouse of Scotland’. Alas, all good things must come to an end and the distillery sadly closed its doors in 2011.
This particular Fragrant Drop transported us straight to all the best things in childhood; cola bottles, vanilla, white chocolate, honeyed porridge, ‘pink & blues’, sticky toffee pudding with hot custard and Werther’s Originals. There are sugared almonds, chocolate pralines and cherry lockets on the pallet and a luxuriant waxy finish. Only 187 bottles of this closed grain distillery.
