Description

Sasa Radikon’s eagerly anticipated 2021 SIVI (Pinot Grigio). This is showing a lot of fresh fruit but it needs time to open. Richer than the Slatnik 2021 and with a slight earthy edge to the apricot stone fruit led palate.

If you are unfamiliar with orange wine, this is the perfect orange wine to start with. absolutely delicious. Formerly called Pinot Grigio Sivi Radikon, but nothing like a conventional Pinot Grigio as we know it. The two-week skin contact extracts beautiful red fruit flavours and sweet spices. Delicious with red mullet or chorizo dishes.

Now in the very capable hands of the larger than life Sasa Radikon, the Radikon estate was first started by his father Stanko Radikon. Stanko began his stewardship of the 18 hectares of vineyards, located near the Slovenian border, he came to the conclusion that the local indigenous grape, Ribolla Gialla, needed to be treated differently to other varieties if it was to reach its full potential. Radikon set about changing his methods and pioneered the movement towards both natural and orange wines. From the specially designed bottles and the high-quality corks that avoid cork tainted wine, the production method and the taste, these wines are truly unique and an experience all wine-lovers should have.
