Description
This wine is seductive and well balanced. An intense bouquet and palate of mulberries and spicy notes like black pepper. The Syrah for the La Clarissa comes from the Patti Piccolo area of Alcamo with vines grown on loose soils with a fine texture on a North East/ South West exposure.
The historic Cantine Rallo winery is based a stones throw from the beach in Marsala though their hundred hectares of organic vineyards are high up in the hills above Alcamo. Owned by the dynamic Vesco family for the last 10 years, they have revolutionized the viticultural practices as well as investing heavily in cutting edge technology for the winery and bottling line. The results are evident in the fragrant, crisp Catarratto and perfumed, fresh Nero d’Avola these wines are a million miles from the overripe styles made by many of their peers.
