Description
A sultry expression featuring all British varieties. Musty and savory, but creamy and luxurious. The illusion of residual sugar is coupled with racy acidity, an epitome of balance. An homage to Marc’s time spent in London, where his love affair with cider began.
Small batch, radically low intervention ciders and fruit pet-nats produced in Girona, Catalunya. We first met couple Marc and Aïda during a tour of our Catalan producers, having made contact before our visit, we made plans to meet them at Clos Lentiscus, to taste through what we had heard were some of the most exciting expressions of native Catalan fruit being produced today. 2020 is Serps’ first commercial production vintage but let’s not fool you into thinking that quantities are what you might consider “commercial”, production is tiny, with each cuvée being treated as an experiment, trial and error, a radical learning curve, to give the maximum deserved value to each fruit variety through fermentation.
Rules are limited, but there is strictly nothing added or taken away. This experimental attitude is framed within the design and artwork on each label, inspired by zine culture, Marc had the desire to allow each cider to be a page of his zine, capturing the underground culture that surrounds Marc and Aïda. The design was put together by friend Marc Monguilod, using a black and white palette, allowing the color of each cider to be at the forefront. Each label features artwork from a different artist, part of their close circle of friends, and always influenced by the flavors, aromas, colors, and title of each cider. We have just received our first shipment from Serps, and are very excited to be able to introduce the first two labels, for the first time in the UK. We have small quantities of each of the two listed here, and highly recommend being one of the first to try these before they are gone, once they are, they won’t be back.
