It weighs in at a modest 4.2% but has a depth of flavour well beyond your average low-fours beer; lightly burnt sugar, dark chocolate and coffee are all here in full force. A few weeks ago this was a rough, rustic and rugged beer, tasting every one of the near-250 years since the recipe was developed. Now, after that all-important conditioning time, those big flavours have rounded and softened and it’s smooooooth. Nitro stout? Where we’re going Marty, we don’t need nitro.
