Welcome to Summer & some delicious bottles to enjoy in the longer days of sunshine!
La Jara Rose Frizzante (Italy) An organic lightly sparkling rosé wine from north-east Italy, made with organic Glera (the same grape as Prosecco) & Raboso grapes. The nose is delicate strawberries & raspberries. The palate is fresh & tart full of gooseberry & redcurrant notes. Try pairing this wine with risotto or pasta, or simply having it as an aperitif in the garden.
Olivier Coste Rose (France) Pale pink in colour, with a plump, dry palate and flavours of strawberry and blackberry. Fresh and round with good length. As well as working in an organic, sustainable manner, all Olivier’s wines are now also declared carbon neutral, as he offsets 100% of his carbon emissions by financing green projects. A quintessential sunshine rose that would pair perfectly with charcuterie, salads & tapas.
Lunaria Civitas Pecorino (Italy) Bright gold in colour with an aromatic nose. A soft and pleasant wine with aromas of citrus, ripe pear, peach and orange blossom. The palate is clean and rich with a pleasing mineral complexity and a long finish. Organic & Biodynamic.
Musita Zibbibo (Sicily)- Classic aromatic white grape variety from Sicily. Full of blossom, lychee, nectarine with nice fresh acidity. Perfect as a glass by itself or with some fragrant spicy seafood.
Fabrizio Vella Bianco (Sicily) This is our house wine & an absolute box-ticker! Sicily is a great source for good value organic wines. 100% Catarratto from higher altitude vineyards near the beaches of Marsala. Fermented in old acacia wooden barrels & in steel, the style is crisp, fresh & textured. Citrus, tropical fruits & some sweet spice. Unfined & unfiltered so it may give you a slightly cloudy glass. A perfect all rounder that is great with Sicilian street food!
Amphorum Rose (Spain) A rose wine made from Garnacha grapes. Organic farmed with lovely ripe berry flavours of strawberry, raspberry & cherry on the palate. A fruity rose with a deeper pink colour as opposed to a pale dry Provence. There is no residual sugar in the wine but because of all the ripe berry aromatics it can come across as slightly sweeter. Match with spicy food!
