A rare, exclusive Single Cask bottling of Williamson to mark the 10 year anniversary of Cork & Cask opening it’s doors in 2013. Distilled at Laphroaig Distillery and labelled Williamson due to it’s unique recipe for the Independent whisky bottling market.
This is one of two Williamson casks that were decanted into sweet Moscatel Casks by Berry Bros & Rudd. The first of the two cask was released at 9 year old in 2022, it was exceptional, we loved it and so did the few customers who were able to get their hands on a bottle.
We were over the moon to find out there was a second cask, we tasted it and loved it, so asked them to hold it an extra year in it’s delicious cask. It finally turned 10 last month and was ready to be bottled unchillfiltered and at its natural cask strength of 58.6%.
A powerful yet surprisingly rounded south Islay Single Malt packed with flavour. The nose shows sweet leather, coastal sea spray and earthy ashy bonfires. Layered through that are the moscatel notes of dried redcurrant, apricot, barley water and gingerbread. Serious stuff!
