Description
Eleni and Edouard Vocoret work a small parcel of vines that formally belonged to Edouards family estate Vocoret et Fils. They vinify each plot individually and take a minimal intervention approach to their winemaking and a focus on organic viticulture.
Having met working in New Zealand they eventually moved home with Edouard working at the family estate and Eleni working for Vincent Dauvissat and Natalie Oudin. Eventually Edourards father agreed to let them have their own vines and from there they slowly created what are fast becoming some of Chalbis most exciting wines.
After making a mistake with the paperwork when declaring how much wine they made in 2021, Eleni and Édouard were forced to bottle their remaining barrels of ‘Bas de Chapelot’ as a non-vintage Vin de France to keep the local appellation authorities happy.
With allocations of Vocoret’s wines usually selling out on release, it gives us enormous pleasure to be able to offer you a second helping of ‘Bas de Chapelot’ – from Burgundy’s brilliant and extremely limited 2021 vintage – under this beautiful limited-edition label. Cheers to red tape!
From ‘Le Bas de Chapelot’ – a parcel beneath 1er Cru ‘Montée de Tonnerre’. Taut and long, with concentrated citrus fruit and fine mineral details.
This shows notes of stone fruits and citrus; beautiful minerality and refreshing acidity with a steely finish; finely balanced.
