Foursquare Magisterium is the twenty-sixth release (Mark XXVI) in the Award-Winning Exceptional Cask Selection series. A name that conveys the Mastery of fine aged Rums that experts and enthusiasts have come to expect from the team at Foursquare Rum Distillery.
It contains a blend of Rums, distilled in the copper double retort pot-still and the continuous twin column stills of Foursquare and aged for sixteen years in ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks. More specifically, it is a blend of three aged Rums, a sixteen-year-old ex-bourbon cask and two dual-maturations; the first comprising three years in ex-Bourbon followed by thirteen years in ex-Oloroso Sherry cask, with the second comprising nine years in ex-Bourbon and seven years in ex-Oloroso Sherry. A level of detail appreciated by enthusiasts of Foursquare Rum.
Presented at 58% ABV, Magisterium may be summarised in a single word: soft.
It’s complex and evolving on the nose, silky over the palate, with an evolving profile that lingers a long, long time. A Rum that rewards those who take their time exploring this fabulous long-aged expression of mastery by Foursquare.
