Description
Golden yellow hue with a fine mousse. A touch of dried fapricot with citrus hints on the nose, follows on to a smooth palate that’s refreshing and has an excellent balance of fresh apricot, white peach and citrus fruit. The finish is aromatic and lingers.
Fruit for this cuvee comes from vineyards around the villages of Hautvillers, Dizy and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. The soils are of clay and limestone on belemnita quadrata chalk. This chalk variety stores and radiates solar heat, maximizes drainage of excess water and retains humidity in summer. It stores the principal minerals that give the grapes their high ester content.
Grapes were harvested by hand in September and transported in vented crates. All of the vineyards are certified as High environmental value and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne.
A blend is made up of 40% Pinot Meunier, 35% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir, with base wines from 2014.
