Description
A magnificent wine, oozing finesse with a touch of acidity that follows through the whole tasting to then give way to a very delicate fruitiness. The red fruits intermingle with a variety of aromas that even include some spice notes. The finish is jammier, riper and above all of incredible length!
Jean & three other local winemakers, Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet & Guy Breton, are iconic figures in the natural wine movement. This Gang of Four, as they became known, called for a return to the old more natural practices of viticulture & vinification: starting with old vines, never using chemical herbicides or pesticides, harvesting late, rigorously sorting to remove all but the healthiest grapes, adding minimal doses of sulfur dioxide or none at all. Despite his association with the movement, Jean produces precise and extremely fault free wines of aromatic purity and elegance.
