Description
A fresh but complex skin-contact Sauvignon Blanc from Slovakia. This wine walks the line between orange wine & skin macerated white wine. Partly fermented on skins for a week, then aged for a year in an egg-shaped tank. Herbs & lots of stone fruit come through, the palate has lovely texture with classic Sauvignon Blanc freshness. Pours a lovely light hazy colour in the glass. Summery! A great Sunshine wine!
The family-run Slobodne winery dates back to the early 20th century, but suffered a fifty year break in production thanks first to World War Two & then forty years of communism. Over the last twenty five years they’ve rebuilt the farm, it’s now run by two sisters & their partners, who are dedicated to producing some of the most exciting wines to come out of Eastern Europe.
