On the palate, pleasantly round and ample, closer to the powerful end of the spectrum for Morgon. Dark cherries and red currant abound alongside delicate hints of baking spice. Silky tannins lead to a surprisingly long finish. Morgon at its best, vividly vibrant and earthily structured.
Decades ago, Charly Thévenet helped reinvent Beaujolais by pioneering organic farming methods and conscientious viticulture. Now joined by his son Jean-Paul, these dynamic vignerons continue to hone their skill with each passing the vintage. This Morgon is bursting with juicy red fruits and blackberry compote. At what first appears to be an easy drinking red is rounded out by notes of spices, herbs, and a surprising complexity that perfectly complements a wine so light on its feet.
