Christophe and Johannes took over this family estate in 2006. The estate dates back to the 16th century, based in Saulheim, west of Oppenheim in the middle of the Rhineland, an area synonymous with bulk wine production. They work everything organically and are moving deeper and deeper into biodynamics. Now firmly established as one of the stars of the new wave of German winemakers, producing sappy Rieslings and delicate Spätburgunders from the characteristically calcareous limestone soils of Saulheim’s single vineyards Hölle, Schlossberg and Probstey.
