Description

Minee Haute cuvee is from a new plot on shale and gravel, at the bottom of a peaceful and wild valley. Rich and complex, this haute couture cuvee from Chateau de Bonnezeaux will age wonderfully over a few years in the cellar to become fully expressive.

Drink now and enjoy the rich candied orchard fruits and mineral edge.

The archaic French wine laws have kept some vignerons from pushing the boundaries of what has been capable in this famous sweet wine region. These dry wines are labelled with the humble Vin de France label. They are farmed with organic practices and have minimal sulphur additions resulting in a wide spectrum of aromas and elements.

Chateau de Bonnezeaux’s history goes back to the early 19th Century, however it has not made a bottle for over 3 decades until Louis-Edgard de Pinieux inherited the Estate from his wife. The Domaine had been abandoned for a generation, the vines unmanaged and the buildings in ruins. They managed to save 2 parcels of old vines, La Montagne and la Vieille Vignes. A cousin of Louis. Guyonne who had worked with Mark Angeli of Domaine de la Sansonniere took over the running of the Domaine, before unfortunately falling ill.

In 2019, Pierre Boisseau and oenologue Florian Zuliani joined the Domaine. They purchased a further 3 hectares to make 6 hectares in total.
