Description
A Strathmill from two First Fill Oloroso quarter casks, aged 13 years, this has spent its final 12 months maturing in these smaller sherry casks before being bottled at 55.2%.
On the nose very concentrated, stewed plum, baked earth, a forest floor autumn leaf note and a touch hazelnut skin. Spicy on the palate with fine but firm oak tannin, nuts nuts nuts and cinnamon spice. This finish is comfortable and endearing and keeps you sipping away, the intensity of the cask finish balancing in the end.
Cask Finishes:
Like many blenders of his time, Mr. Eadie was fond of casks which had previously held brandies or fortified wines. These included Sherry, Madeira and Marsala, amongst others. So Rupert, Hugh and Leon, the three people who make up the modern James Eadie Whisky Company, have set about creating their Cask Finish range. This range explores the flavours which additional maturation in fortified wine barrels can offer.
Some barrels are truly one-of-a-kind. Unique in style and flavour, these are bottled as Single Casks.
All Cask Finish and Single Cask releases are bottled at cask strength, natural colour and unchillfiltered. They are each supplied in individual gift tubes.
